My favorite thing to do when I am bored is to get in my car and
see how far a tank of gas will allow me to go. Sometimes that tank
turns into two or three sometimes more.
North Platte,
Nebraska to Wauneta, Nebraska via Mississippi Ordinarily this trip
with taking country roads would take a safe driver an hour and
a half. On this particular trip it took about eight and a half days. I started in North Platte Ne, and drove north
to Murdo, South Dakota and connected with I-90. At that point I turned East and drove till I got to Ft
McCoy, Wisconsin to see a friend. I was a little in awe of this
area so I stayed til noon the next day to do a little site seeing and then
headed south to Paris, Illinois. I've always wanted to see Paris
in the spring. However this was much better than Paris, France
because I got to see my beautiful neice while I was there.
And the wonderful people that brought her into the world. Because
I wanted to spend time with family, I spent two nights and a day, then headed
South toward Meridian, Mississippi. This is where I found a friend
of mine that I hadn't seen in three years. We spent the next day
catching up to old times and everything that we could squeeze in
about the past three years since then. Then the time came for me
to head West accross Louisiana and Texas and then North to Broken
Bow, Oklahoma to repair a damaged friendship. With much regret
the next morning I awoke to start the expected 12 hour trip back
to Nebraska. However when the roads aren't marked clearly it
takes at least ten hours to get out of Oklahoma. Once I
figured out which road lead to I-35 north I found my way to Kansas
which lead into Nebraska, and HOME FLAT HOME.
Need A Coke? Hear Kansas City is a Great Place to get one. I know that there are plenty of convienence stores between
Lincoln, Ne and Kansas City, Ks to pick up a simple bottle of
Coke, but then there wouldn't be a fun story to tell, Would There?
